Cory Jones
Biography
Cory Jones joined the Kumar group in Fall 2016. His work is on light driven ion transport membranes for biophysical and biomedical applications. He has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Florida. Prior to joining the Kumar group: He worked an REU at the University of Kentucky in engineered bio-active interfaces and devices with a publication in drug delivery methods in 2013. A co-op with Ascend Performance Materials in manufacturing and process technology of nylon 66 in 2014. An internship with Ineos New Planet Bioenergy in process engineering of waste to ethanol biofuels in 2014. A Senior Design/Capstone project with Duke Energy on the optimization of wastewater effluent from 2015-2016. Most recently, a post bachelors summer job in research and development at ZoomEssence studying flavor powder technology. He was also a member of two labs in undergrad: one, studying molecular mechanisms underlying Neurodegenerative diseases with Dr. Pedro Cruz; the other, working on the creation and characterization of Shape Memory Polymers for their color changing properties with Dr. Peng Jiang. |
