Biography Ankit Jogdand is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, working under the supervision of Prof. Manish Kumar. He earned his BS–MS dual degree in Chemistry from IISER Pune, India. His doctoral research focuses on designing and synthesizing biomimetic artificial ion channels for selective transport and sustainable resource recovery. During his master’s studies, he worked on the development of peptide-based biomimetic ion channels under Prof. Manish Kumar (UT Austin), investigated the suppression of protein aggregation by PEGylated amphiphilic molecules during a summer internship with Prof. Kazushi Kinbara (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan), studied lipid–protein interactions in mammalian tissues under Prof. Siddhesh Kamat (IISER Pune), and synthesized selective proton channels in Prof. Talukdar’s lab (IISER Pune). These projects strengthened his interests in organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry, and membrane science. Outside the lab, he enjoys swimming, trekking, and camping.
