Biography
Chan Jong Yu graduated from Soongsil University in 2023 with B.S and M.S. in Chemical Engineering, where he conducted research in Dr. Kiwon Eum’s lab on fabricating polycrystalline Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) membranes for Olefin/Paraffin separation. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on developing Carbon Molecular Sieve membranes from polymer membranes through pyrolysis for pervaporation applications. After then, he will adjust Mixed Matrix Membrane(MMM) to CMS research and achieve flexible and high water permeability CMS membrane. Chan Jong is co-advised by Professors Manish Kumar and Benny D. Freeman.
