Biography
Aída Fica is originally from Chile, where she obtained her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Concepción in 2015. After working for five years in the Chilean pulp and paper industry, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in the U.S. She obtained her MS. Degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2022. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Kumar’s lab research group, where she works on the electrophysiological characterization of membrane proteins using the droplet interface bilayer technique.​
