Biography
Joseph is a plant molecular biologist. His Ph.D work comprehensively covered the genetic landscape of the moss Physcomitrella patens, focusing on abiotic stress responses. During his post doctoral studies, he discovered that a gene ABI3 is essential for desiccation tolerance of moss through abscisic acid, and a conserved microRNA 156 promotes phase change during moss development opposite to its inhibitory function in flowering plants. Currently, he is involved in structural investigation of plant cellulose synthase A using cryo TEM technology. |
