Biography
Matt Skiles earned his B.S. degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 2017. As an undergrad he worked as an intern for several research organizations developing environmental and energy policy. He also worked as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Rebecca Larson and Dr. Jamie Schauer’s labs at UW-Madison, contributing to wastewater treatment and aerosol research. Following graduation, he worked in the energy services industry serving commercial and oil and gas clients until joining UT-Austin in Fall 2019 with a College Recruitment Fellowship. At UT, he is advised by Dr. Manish Kumar and conducts research focused on incorporating artificial water channels within functioning membranes with the hope of reducing energy and cost requirements for water treatment. |
