Nurshaun Sreedhar

Biography
Nurshaun is currently pursuing his PhD in Civil Engineering at the Department of Civil,
Architectural and Environmental engineering, in the Environmental and water resource
engineering Program at UT Austin. He is advised by Prof. Manish Kumar, and is a graduate
intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado under the
supervision of senior staff scientist Dr. Abhishek Roy. Nurshaun is working on developing
lithium selective membranes for mineral extraction from brines and is focused on deploying the interfacial polymerization technique as well as scaling up this fabrication process in a roll-2-roll manufacturing unit. He has completed his bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Sathyabama University, India and master’s in chemical engineering at Khalifa University, UAE, following which he worked at the Center for membranes and advanced water technology at Khalifa University for 4 years as a research engineer. His work there was focused on developing novel
3D printed feed spacers for spiral wound modules in membrane processes.
