Biography
Sophie received her bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Alabama and her master’s degree in environmental engineering from UT Austin. Her thesis focused on the simultaneous removal of oil and bacteria in a natural fiber filter for anti-biofouling applications. Currently, Sophie’s research interests involve applications of plant-based proteins in water treatment, focusing on PFAS removal and protein-PFAS interactions.
