Biography
Yu-Ming Tu is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin co-advised by Prof. Kumar and Prof. Benny Freeman. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He completed his Master of Science in the area of lipid bilayers and membrane protein dynamics in Chemical Engineering at the National Taiwan University, Taiwan. His research interests include biomaterials, membrane protein biophysics, and biomimetic membranes. His current research focuses on development of biomimetic membranes with beta-barrel and other channel proteins within a block copolymer matrix for a variety of applications (aqueous separations, vapor transport, battery separators).
